Before studying economics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (V.U.B.), Nils Maydell completed training as a goldsmith, silversmith, jeweller and gemologist. He completed management programs at C.E.D.E.P. (European Centre for Executive Development) in Fontainebleau, France. Nils Maydell started his professional career at Tiffany & Co. in German retail and European wholesale. He then held positions at L’Oréal in Paris in international marketing (focus on brand and product development) and in Austria with responsibility for brand and sales management. At Richemont, Nils Maydell headed marketing and communications for Cartier Northern Europe in a zone of more than 20 countries. In 2006 Nils Maydell founded the PR agency M2 MAYDELL, which specialises in jewellery and watch brands from the luxury, premium and trend segments and focuses on the D-A-CH region. He is a certified management consultant and speaks German, English and French.
