Before studying economics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (V.U.B.), Nils Maydell completed training as a goldsmith, silversmith, jeweller and gemmologist. He completed management programs at C.E.D.E.P. (European Centre for Executive Development) in Fontainebleau, France. Nils Maydell started his professional career at Tiffany & Co. in the German retail trade and European wholesale trade. This was followed by positions at L’Oréal in Paris in international marketing (focus on brand and product development) and in Austria with responsibility for brand and sales management. At Richemont, Nils Maydell managed marketing and communications for Cartier Northern Europe in a zone of more than 20 countries. In 2006 Nils Maydell founded the PR agency M2 MAYDELL, which specializes in comprehensive PR services in Austria and D-A-CH. He is a licensed management consultant and speaks German, English and French.
